Sunday Morning Activity at Our House

1. Husband and I take a walk and go out for a quiet cup of coffee.
2. Pick up Marijuana drug test kit at the pharmacy.
3. Pick up 17-year old son at his friends house.
4. Have son pee in a cup.
5. Husband and I take a long bike ride. (Could be really long depending upon the results of the test.)

Remember when they just used to pee into a diaper?

  1. Good lordy, here comes real hard core teenager/parent angst of the first degree...

I want those diaper days, sleepless nights back!! Not a fair trade this...

    Take care sink

  2. Gulp.....with their father's track record I know my children are 'statistically' more likely to dabble with drugs ( although if I could tell them that drugs have destroyed our lives it would be a deterrent but for legal reasons I'm not allowed to!) but I just pray that I don't ever have that worry. I hope you let us know. Is there a history of it or do you have a hunch? :0(

  4. It's so rife here that my daughter won't go to parties because everyone's hanging around high. Part of the problem is that their parents did it so they don't really see it as that big a deal. Problem is, if they get caught it could literally ruin their future at the moment, (not to mention their brains.)
    Oy, oy, oy.
On the upside, this will give him a great excuse not to indulge in the future - and he can just blame you rather than worry about making himself look pathetic in front of his friends.

  5. Yes, yes, yes to all of the above. Do you want to follow me along on this...this...I don't even know what to call it.
Hunch...first time...with any of our kids...just a gut feeling...he has been our easiest child...then, WHAM-O. And you know what? I know that we have been darn good parents. I'm not ready to throw up my hands. We are going into this fighting...It's us against the lure of the high. And you know what else? I know that we are going to win.
